What Jerry will do if elected in November 1999 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
1) Lower the % of delinquent taxes to a norm, then exceed that norm. | 2) Make sure employees are all informed of policies and that no one is giving special treatment.(taxpayers, employees) 3) Get tax tickets out to the taxpayers by the 1st week of November. 4) Deposit county funds no more than one business day from the time they are received. 5) Negotiate and obtain a financial program that will make the tax dollars of K & Q earn the best interest rate as possible with the least risk. 6) Have regular meetings with each department (social services, school board, county administrator) so that a timed investment budget can be set up. This is to make sure that any funds that are not needed in the short term can stay in higher earning investments for longer periods of time. 7) Work with the board of supervisors to implement a twice a-year tax system. (Many citizens have said that they would rather split payment on their taxes because it is very difficult to pay the whole amount around the holidays.) 8) Keep the Board of Supervisors abreast of any and all special situations that may affect their decisions. 9) Make sure all financial reports are made on time. 10) Have public forums for the general public so that the office can hear about any concerns first hand.
